Adidas and skateboard brand Dime have teamed up for an exciting new collaboration with agency Denim, enlisting the help of Stan Smith and more to star in their spot.
The ambitious project celebrates the legendary tennis player's iconic sneaker named after him, first introduced in 1963.
The one-minute hero ad also stars skateboarders Nora Vasconcellos and Hugo Balek and music producer Darude as they play a tennis match replacing rackets with skateboards.
"This project perfectly reflects my passion for sports and comedy. It was an incredibly fun and creative experience that allowed us to combine unexpected elements to create something cool," says Martin C Pariseau, who directed the spot.
Notably, Pariseau shares that he alongside director of photography Alexandre Nour was inspired by Luca Guadagnino's film "Challengers," replicating its aesthetic in a "humorous and unpretentious way."
The new campaign will be available across digital and social media platforms.
A Game of 'Skateball'
The one-minute spot kicks off with the two-time Grand Slam Winner introducing Vasconcellos and Balek as they face off in the Adidas skateball tournament.
The two warm up and do stretches with their skateboards, before Smith introduces Darude as the match's chair umpire, and his shoes get their well-deserved screentime.
As Smith provides live coverage, an intense back-and-forth ensues between the two professional skateboarders, with the Darude producer watching them intently.
After an intense bout, Vasconcellos comes out victorious, leading Balek to break his board out of anger. The spot ends with Darude nodding to the camera, as the Adidas and Dime logos appear on screen.
