Legendary musician and philanthropist Sir Elton John is teaming up with eBay for a clothing sale like no other.
The two have officially announced the "Rocket Man Resale," where John will be selling clothes from his Atlanta treasure trove through his very own eBay account.
"Now that my tour days are over, I've been pondering ways to make the world a little more fabulous," the singer says in the short video ad shot with his long-time manager David Furnish.
"I've had a revelation, 'What if everyone could dress a little more like me?'"
And especially since it's for a good cause, Furnish proclaims that it's a brilliant idea.
This gives fans and fashion enthusiasts a chance to own some of John's iconic and luxury pieces purchased throughout his career, at the same time championing a worthy cause.
The resale includes a total of 259 pieces, which include Versace robes, Prada footwear, Gucci jackets, and many more.
A Closet Sale for a Cause
Proceeds of the sale will go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, capping off Pride Month in a way that deeply helps the community.
"Giving new life to the cherished items from my wardrobe has always been special to me. For decades I’ve donated my closet’s treasures to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation," John said in a press release.
Whether it's high-end luxury or laid-back pieces, the pop star says there will be a perfect find for everyone while 100% of all sales will go to the much broader cause of helping "end LGBTQ+ stigma."

Apart from the hundreds of pieces from the "Cold Heart" singer, artists such as David Furnish, Donatella Versace, Brandi Carlile, Betsey Johnson, Robin Roberts, and Andy Cohen will also be selling pre-loved items from their own wardrobes.
The "Rocket Man Resale" officially kicked off on June 27 and will run through July 7.
Making Luxury Accessible
eBay is often a top choice for resellers and mindful buyers practicing conscious and circular fashion — which is why it has become the brand to look for when artists like John want an eCommerce platform to give back to society.
It also has eBay for Charity, allowing its users to sell pre-loved items and donate a percentage (if not all) of the proceeds to a charitable institution of their choice, contributing significantly to its positive and trustworthy image.
eBay VP of Fashion Charis Marquez adds that having someone like John sell his clothes on eBay to support his AIDS Foundation is a real indicator of eBay's ability to offer access to luxury items that people can't normally find anywhere else.
Meanwhile, Elton John AIDS Foundation CEO Anne Aslett shares that eBay's reach has given the foundation an opportunity to share its message with the 135 million eBay users worldwide.
"By participating in this auction, you will help support our programs to end the stigma and discrimination that prevent so many from accessing lifesaving HIV care — an important message not just for Pride Month, but every day of the year," she concluded.
The eCommerce giant recently launched Venmo as its newest payment option, giving users more choices and flexibility.
