Spotify has updated its visual identity by launching a new custom font on Wednesday.
"Spotify Mix" was created with the help of Berlin-based firm Dinamo Typefaces, replacing its old Circular font designed by Laurenz Brunner.
Sharp angles and rounded curves characterize the new sans-serif design, making it easier to read on smaller screens like smartwatches.
Behind the New Look
Rasmus Wängelin, Spotify’s global head of brand design, highlighted that the new typeface merges elements from various font styles, which reflects the "dynamic and evolving nature of audio culture over the years."

"We subtly incorporated the shapes of sound waves to evoke a rhythmic feel. The combination of sharp angles and smooth curves gives the typeface a distinctive character that feels quintessentially Spotify,"Wängelin explained in a blog post.
Spotify Mix will roll out gradually in the coming months, initially supporting all Latin-based scripts and Vietnamese.
The move follows similar font updates in recent years by major companies like X, Instagram, and Google.
